Well, after a solid week of working on this beast it’s finally complete. I’ve gone through a number of trying issues, the primary one being that I had to scrap my backend system I was originally going to go with because I ran into some nasty limitations with flat files. I’ll just leave it at that, you can read my other entry on CMS’s if you want to know more. The site is built on Textpattern an open-source, freely available CMS programmed by Dean Allen. I don’t consider myself to be an expert on this subject, but I figured what better way to become an expert than to keep a documented look at how I came to the decision to use Textpattern as a CMS for my site. Textpattern is a content management system quite unlike any other that I’ve come across.
